Entry Form and Prospectus: Print a Copy
JUDGE: Ryan Hollis, Memphis, Tennessee
DEADLINE: Entries must be received in the SAAC Office by March 30, 2012.
ENTRY/FEE: Limit 2 pieces per person with an entry fee of $10 each for SAAC Members and $15 each for Non-Members Entry fee is non-refundable. Make checks payable to SAAC.
AWARDS: Cash prizes will be awarded to the Best of Show ($300), First Place ($150), Second Place ($75), Third Place ($50), and Honorable Mention ($20).
ELIGIBILITY: Entries must be original photographs, taken with any type of camera, that are framed and ready for display in the gallery. Photographers may use basic corrective editing in the darkroom or digitally but no graphic manipulations or touch-ups allowed. Photographs must have been taken in the last two years and not previously shown at SAAC. No work done under supervision or in a classroom environment will be accepted. Each piece must be framed appropriately with a sufficient hanging method. The judge and show chairperson have final authority to define what constitutes an acceptable entry.
ENTRY FORM: Submit a completed signed entry form when delivering work. Please indicate what type of camera used for photo (slr, point and shoot, cell phone, Polaroid, etc) and the output type (printed in darkroom, silver nitrate, printed on linen, printed on metallic paper, color copy, ink jet on paper, etc). Don’t forget to attach the exhibit label to the back of the artwork.
DELIVERY/PICK-UP: Works must be delivered to SAAC by March 30 and picked up on April 26. Artists are responsible for the delivery and pickup of all works. Shipped pieces must include a return shipping label or instructions when received. Work not picked up after 30 days will become the property of SAAC.
EXHIBITION: All accepted works will be on exhibit in SAAC's Merkle and Price Galleries April 3-25, 2012. An Artist Reception will be held April 13, 6-8pm with an awards presentation at 6:30pm. All work must remain for the duration of the exhibit.
SALES: Sales are encouraged. A commission of 35% will be charged on all sales resulting from the exhibition. Works NOT FOR SALE must be marked NFS.
LIABILITY: Any work submitted to SAAC for exhibition may be reproduced for promotional purposes. The receipt of an entry in the competition will constitute agreement by the artist with all conditions set forth in the prospectus.
