FEBRUARY • Shadows on the Road
February 1-25, 2011 • Artist Reception Saturday, February 12, 6-8pm
by photographer John Bridges of Little Rock, AR
• "This exhibit focuses on two bodies of work that weave between the internal and external, showing that no matter where I point the camera, it is my story to tell," says John.
"For the series 'Shadows on the Road,' I searched Arkansas for the places where shadows and light intersect over the breakfast tables, buildings, or the landscape of a town that create quiet spaces of contemplation. The interplay of light and shadow created mysteries for me, as the stories of the scenes I encountered revealed themselves. This work is my meditation. I hope for it to evoke a quiet calm in the viewer."
All silver gelatin prints are processed, printed and toned by the artist to museum quality standards. Most prints are in editions of twenty-five with three artist proofs, while some are in editions of five or are one of a kind. All prints are signed in pencil on the back and front.
