The El Dorado charter of Kiwanis International supports the arts within the community with a generous sponsorship of the newly developed youth theater program at the South Arkansas Arts Center. The monies from the sponsorship will go towards the youth theater’s very first production of “Disney’s 101 Dalmatians, Kids.” The musical for young performers is based on the classic animated film and novel “The Hundred and One Dalmatians” by Dodie Smith.

All students in kindergarten through twelfth grade are invited to audition for the youth theatre production. The new performing arts class, under the direction of the creative husband and wife team, Victoria and Shelton Harden, will hold auditions for the production January 11-12 at 6pm. Performances of “Disney’s 101 Dalmatians” are scheduled for the first week of April.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. It is through the generous support of community organizations, businesses, and individuals that the South Arkansas Arts Center can continue to offer quality education through the arts with professional instructors.
