SAAC Exhibitions & Competitions
The South Arkansas Arts Center hosts four competitions each year: three annual, one bi-annual, and two quadrennial art competitions. The offerings cover a variety of artistic media and artists’ skill levels and include opportunities for the novice to the professional artist. Most of the competitions are awarded prize monies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, as well as honorable mention; others are more community minded through outreach programs and services. All selected works are exhibited in our galleries.
SAAC Annual Juried Art Competition
The Annual SAAC Juried Art Competition is a nationwide, open competition for artists 18 years and up who specialize in two and three-dimensional fine art. Regionally and nationally recognized professionals in the field of art serve as guest jurors, who, in turn, select the pieces for inclusion and choose the award winning works from the entries. This event has the largest cash prizes of all the competitions SAAC hosts. Selected entries are exhibited in the Merkle and Price Galleries.
SAAC Membership Show
You never know what you will find when the creative endeavors and hidden talents of our members are on display in the Merkle and Price Galleries. The exhibition is open to all medias and all ages and all skill levels. The only prerequisite, being a member of SAAC, is easy to do. New Members welcome at any time.
The Viewfinder
