SPECIALTY AREAS

Art in Spanish • Age 4-7  Begins August 28 • $125/$150
Wednesday 3:30-4:30 with Maria Villegas
Vamos! • This Spanish-Art Class will bring parents and students together to enjoy learning a new language through fun art activities, including songs and lots of repetition. This is exciting for students and parents who would learn Spanish and practice together.

Voice or Beginning Piano Private Lessons • K-12th Grade
Begins August 26-29 • 30 minute private lessons $300/325
Contact SAAC office to schedule with instructor Charlsie Langley (existing students) on Monday/Tuesday and Keisha Amos (new students) on Wednesday/Thursday. 

BALLET

Ballet Level 1  Begins August 28 • $125/$150
Wednesday 3:45-4:30 (exp) or Wednesday 4:30-5:15 (new) with Stephanie Lowrey
Level 1 places emphasis on ballet fundamentals and music connection for students kindergarten – 1st grade.

Ballet Level 2  Begins August 27 or 29 • $125/$150
Tuesday 3:45-4:45 with Elizabeth Wood or Thursday 3:45-4:45 with Stephanie Lowrey 
Ballet 2 students will focus on developing techniques learned in Level 1 for students 2nd-4th grade.

Ballet Level 3  Begins August 27 and 29 • $250/$275
Tuesday 5:00-6:00 with Elizabeth Wood and Thursday 5:00-6:00 with Stephanie Lowrey 
Students will focus on strengthening technique with an emphasis on artistic expression for students 5-8th grade. Two classes a week. 

Ballet Level 4  Begins August 27 and 29 • $300/$325
Tuesday 6:15-7:45 with Elizabeth Wood and Thursday 6:15-7:45 with Stephanie Lowrey
Students will focus on strengthening technique with an emphasis on artistic expression for students 9-12th grade. Two classes a week. 

GLEE

Glee Club 1-12   Begins August 26 • $125/$150

Where do you find your inner gleek? The shower? The car? In church? The mirror? No matter where you are in your journey to vocal stardom, come let us perfect your inner gleek!! No auditions! All gleeks welcome!!!

DRAMA

Drama PreK4 – 1  Begins August 26 • $125/$150
Monday 4:45-5:30 with Hannah Davis
 / Friends and family invited to last class
In our ongoing quest to use arts to educate, this class is dedicated to school readiness skills because learning can be fun, and by nurturing the creative spirit we can mold creative thinkers. Class will use acting and movement to help develop fine motor skills, critical thinking skills, vocabulary, and imagination.

Drama 2-3 Begins August 26 • $125/$150

 / Friends and family invited to last class
This is a class for those who love, or want to learn to love the theatre arts. With segments on monologues and scenes from the Classics, and monologues and scenes for college/professional auditions.

Drama Club 7-12 Auditions Sept 10 • $140/$165
Tuesday 4:00-6:00 and Thursday 4:00-6:00 with Lynn Gunter

“Our Town” by Thornton Wilder is the play that we will be working on. Audition with Director Lynn Gunter on September 10 at 6-8pm. Rehearsals beginning October 8. Production dates December 13 & 14. Expect the rehearsal schedule to include extra tech/dress rehearsals and one Saturday workday. 

GRAPHIC ART

Drawing with Digital Tools – Learn the fun of Adobe Photoshop by creating artwork using the design tools and filtering techniques of the program. Create art as easily as using a pencil or brush with the lab’s Wacom Tablets.

Bees and Things • By learning about bees, honey, and other garden insects,  students will experience nature at its best. New art activities in drawing, painting, and collage will keep students energized and inspired to create their own artworks.

Our Mighty Sun • Students will learn about the influence our sun exerts on the earth, generating all kinds of weather. From landscapes on earth, to the solar system, students will use 3-D pens, painting and drawing to create 3-D artworks depicting scenes from landscapes on earth to the solar system.

Visual Art 4-6 Begins August 26 • $140/$165
Monday 3:30-4:45 with Maria Villegas
Oh, Papier-Mâché! • Students will experiment with papier-mâché techniques to create amazing pieces. From objects to animals to imaginative forms, students will let their imaginations run, while learning the wonders of volume and space.

Visual Art 7-12 Begins August 26 • $140/$165
Monday 4:45-6:00 with Maria Villegas
Going back to the basics! • Students will have one on one instruction to develop skills in drawing, painting, and the fundamentals of art. From ink to charcoal to acrylics and watercolors, students will experiment to master multiple techniques.
