“Rabbit Hole” transports audiences onto the poignant journey of loss and healing. The narrative centers on Becca and Howie Corbett, a couple struggling with the profound grief of losing their four-year-old son. As they confront their sorrow, they encounter familial conflicts and the difficulties of finding a path forward. Along with exploring the trauma of child loss, this play also includes mild adult language.
With a talented cast featuring Emilia Gathright as Becca, Rhett Davis as Howie, Kaila Saffle as Izzy, Ruth Griffin as Nat, and Clayton Evers as Jason, the troupe aims to convey the rawness of grief with honesty and depth.
“Rabbit Hole was chosen because of its powerful subject matter and incredible writing. The script takes you into the lives of these five unfortunate individuals. Loss is never easy, and I’m sure the parents of a four-year-old can attest to that. How do you deal with that loss and how do you move on?,” said Davis. “The play doesn’t provide the answers to these questions. Instead, it shows how grief can manifest and how it can be observed.”
“The story is both emotionally gripping and therapeutic. You find yourself rooting for all of the characters despite their flaws. In short, Rabbit Hole is a beautiful show that I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of. I can’t wait to share the stories of tragedy and triumph with our community.” This touching production is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC.
Second Stage has always prided themselves for not shying away from shows that handle hardships. Historically, they have done shows that really explore the human experience in efforts of both entertaining and invoking emotion. They have presented plays that show the effects of PTSD from war, how a family copes with the death of a manipulative father figure and even the devastation (and hilarity) that a divorce can cause on a person.
Join Second Stage for an unforgettable evening as they delve into the complexities of grief and the resilience of the human spirit.
