Having a blast while learning something new is always a good time! Get them off the couch and off their screens and into the South Arkansas Arts Center for the best experience of their summer. The summer schedule this year offers our most popular activities to engage your kids. From the classic art, theater, to dance camps, there is definitely something to spark their interest! The teachers are all enthusiastic about what they have planned and are ready to get going!

JUNE 3-7 • Youth Theatre Camp Mrs. Cassie will work with young actors and performers on the basics of theatre. Limit 25. $120.

JUNE 10-13 • Art Meets Science 4 Days Young scientists entering grades 2-4 can explore the ways that art and science intersect in a hands-on environment with instructor Mike Means. Limit 12. $120.

JUNE 17-21 • Art Camp Students entering grades 1-9 will rotate through activities with three different teachers in visual and graphic art. Instructors Michaela Gross, Katie Harwell, Mike Means. Limit 36. $120.

JULY 22-25 • Mini Art Camp 4 Days • The youngest artists can give camp a try with this session designed just for them! Michaela Gross and Nicole McAdams will lead a shortened, four-day camp from 10-12. Campers will work on fun projects, collaborate with their friends, and learn new skills. Limit 24. $90.
Ages 3-6 10am-12pm Monday through Thursday.
JULY 29 – AUGUST 2 • Musical Theatre Dance Camp “Wicked” Experience a fun-filled week of musical theatre dance camp! Students will be immersed in the basics of dance as they learn choreography and tell the story of Broadway’s Wicked through dance. Students will dance to a selection of beloved songs and learn the fundamentals of choreography, blocking, and stage presence with instructor Bekah Gunter Cartwright. Limit 24. $120.

JULY 29 – AUGUST 2 & AUGUST 5-9 • Pencil Drawing Special Focus Camp Take a deep dive into pencil drawing with Mr. Mike! Students will learn colored pencil technique, composition, and shading with a master of the form. All students will take home a sketchbook and pencils at the end of the week. Limit 12. $120.

AUGUST 5-8 • Ballet Camp “Where the Wild Things Are” 4 Days Dancers will build their skills, learn choreography, and perform in “Where the Wild Things Are.” SAAC Ballet Camps offer the unique opportunity to take not only classical ballet classes to develop technique, but also perform in an original mini-ballet, to help dancers cultivate expression and artistry. Dancers will be involved in all aspects of the production including costume design, set construction, and developing choreography. Instructors Stephanie Lowrey and Cami Lowrey. Limit Sr 20/ Jr 40. $120.
SR Camp Grades 6 and UP: 9am-1pm
JR Camp Grades 1-5: 1:30-4:30pm
Performance Thursday at 6pm. On Thursday campers will stay through the end of the 6pm performance. Bring a snack!
