Our popular monthly Corks and Canvas workshop is getting a woodworking twist in April. Artist Jordan Bolland will work with small groups of students to create wooden charcuterie boards perfect for casual spring entertaining. The workshop will be held in SAAC’s backstage scene shop on Thursday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. Each student will create a one-of-a-kind board to take home.
Bolland, a native of El Dorado and a lover of style and entertaining, will pre-cut boards for each student. He will then guide them through the process of stenciling, carving, adding handles, and finishing each charcuterie board by hand and using woodworking tools. He will even give them the basics on food-safe wax, dyes and stains, including coffee, tea, balsamic vinegar, and wine to create a finished product you won’t find anywhere else.
“There are so many amazing materials and designs you can work with to design a board that really is custom and beautiful,” said Bolland. “Not to mention it can become a great centerpiece.” Bolland will provide all the materials to help each participant design and create their board, and no prior experience is necessary. Please be mindful that power tools will be in use, and safety gloves and goggles will be provided.
No experience is needed. Come enjoy a time of relaxation with your friends recreating your own charcuterie board. All the supplies will be waiting for you, and SAAC will also be providing snacks. Participants are welcome to bring their own drink of choice.
You can register for the workshop on link below or call the office at 870-862-5474. Limit of 10 participants. The workshop fee is $40.
