Registration is now open for Spring 2025 Arts Academy classes. This is a fantastic opportunity for young, aspiring artists to develop their skills under the guidance of our dedicated and experienced instructors across a variety of creative disciplines.

Cassie Hickman’s popular “Mommy and Me” class meets every other Monday morning, inviting babies, toddlers, and their adult companions to engage in creative art and music experiences together.

New in the Russell Ballet Studio! We are thrilled to announce that Peppermint Rushing and Kara Rushing will take on the roles of co-directors of SAAC’s BALLET program this semester. They, along with instructors Dana Bucko, Karis Flurry, and Caroline Calloway, offer ballet classes for dancers from Pre-K through 12th grade. The curriculum includes a wide range of classes, starting with Pre-Ballet for ages Pre-K to 1st grade, where students discover imaginative movement and musical rhythms while learning ballet etiquette, and culminating in Ballet 5, which emphasizes comprehensive technique through barre, center, and floor work, as well as increasingly complex choreography. New to the schedule is Ballet Technique, a stretch and strengthen class designed as an accompaniment to Ballet 4 and 5.

Our VISUAL ARTS program features talented instructors Katie Harwell, Nicole McAdams, Michaela Gross, and Maria Villegas, who offer classes tailored to a range of ages and skill levels. The team creates a supportive and encouraging environment that allows Pre-K to 12 grade students to explore their creative expression. Mike Means  returns with his popular Art Meets Science and Pencil Drawing classes, as well as Graphic Arts classes in the computer lab where students can learn essential skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Continuing this spring, Maria Villegas is offering her Advanced Art Study class for aspiring artists aged 15 to young adults. This specialized class focuses on personalized instruction, advanced techniques, and critical support for students preparing their college application portfolios.

The THEATRE program at SAAC is set to flourish this spring. Instructors Cassie Hickman and Haley Phillips are offering a variety of options for students from Pre-K to 12th grade. Students in grades 2-8 will have the opportunity to audition for the Youth Theatre Production of Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland, JR”. Mr. Mike also offers a Theatre Improv class that fosters creativity and confidence through engaging improvisational activities.

We encourage everyone in the community to explore their creativity this spring at SAAC, where our passionate instructors are committed to nurturing young talent. Classes begin the week of January 27-31.
