Explore your creative side in an upcoming Adult Beginner Pencil Drawing Workshop led by local artist Mike Means on Saturday, May 9th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Designed with beginners in mind, this hands-on workshop offers a welcoming and supportive environment for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of pencil drawing. No prior experience is necessary, and all supplies are included in the $55 registration fee. Participants simply need to show up ready to create.
Drawing is not only an artistic skill but also a powerful tool for personal growth and relaxation. It encourages creative thinking, strengthens focus and concentration, and helps individuals become more observant of the world around them. As a simple and accessible medium, drawing requires only paper and pencil, making it an easy and affordable way to begin an artistic journey. In addition to relieving stress, it can improve fine motor skills and build confidence, while also serving as a foundation for other art forms such as painting and digital design.
Means, a respected local artist, is passionate about helping others discover the joy of drawing. “This workshop is about slowing down and really seeing the world differently,” said Means. “Anyone can learn to draw. It’s not about talent. It’s about observation and practice. I want participants to leave feeling confident, inspired, and excited to keep creating.”
Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. Call 870-862-5474. SAAC is located at 110 E. 5th Street in El Dorado.
