Get ready for an evening of fast-paced fun and original art at the 11th annual 5×5 Art Dash on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 5:00pm. This highly anticipated fundraising event continues to be a favorite of our patron, bringing together artists and art lovers for a lively and memorable experience. The event is generously sponsored once again by Bruce Coffey of East Camden and Highland Railroad.
The 5×5 Art Dash offers attendees the unique opportunity to take home original artwork, often valued well beyond the ticket price. Each participating artist creates a one-of-a-kind piece on a 5-inch by 5-inch canvas, resulting in a diverse and dynamic collection that reflects the creativity of the region. Guests who purchase a $50 ticket will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 5:00pm, leading up to the main event. At 5:30pm, the excitement builds as the bell rings and participants “dash” to claim their favorite pieces. Each ticket admits two people, but only one original artwork may be selected per ticket. The artist for this year’s event features an exciting mix of returning favorites and new voices. The full collection of artwork donated for the fundraiser will be on exhibit in the Price Gallery from May 1-5 for the public to view leading up to the art dash.
This year’s event is organized by Kelly Campbell, a local artist and former SAAC staff member, whose passion for the arts and dedication to the community help make this event a standout each year.
“Eleven years ago, Gay Bechtelheimer brought the idea of the Art Dash to SAAC, and with the help of Joan Coffey and Bruce Coffey, East Camden and Highland Railroad has sponsored the event ever since,” Campbell said. “Even after retiring five years ago, it’s a privilege to continue coordinating this event—it was and is my favorite. The artists, past and present, make it all possible by donating their work. You need to get a ticket—it’s the most fun!”
Known for its energetic atmosphere and sense of friendly competition, the 5×5 Art Dash continues to be one of SAAC’s most engaging and talked-about events, where creativity meets community, and everyone leaves with something special. With only 50 tickets available, early purchase is strongly encouraged.
