Get creative at the upcoming Corks & Canvas workshop, “Petals and Pipe Cleaners: Pipe Cleaner Flower Bouquets,” led by local artist and creative Bhavani Krishnan on Thursday, September 17, at 6 p.m.
Participants will explore fiber art while creating colorful floral bouquets using pipe cleaners and hot glue. With a little imagination and some simple techniques, participants will transform ordinary craft materials into whimsical, one-of-a-kind blooms. The project is a fun and approachable way to create something unique, and the finished bouquets make wonderful keepsake gifts for friends and loved ones. They would make especially fun “break-a-leg” gifts for the dancers and thespians in your life, or a cheerful addition to your own home décor.
“These bouquets might look intimidating to make, but literally anyone can make them as they are really very simple to make,” said Krishnan.
Whether you consider yourself an experienced artist or someone who simply enjoys trying something new, this workshop offers a relaxed opportunity to unwind, spend time with friends, and experiment with a unique artistic process. Participants can enjoy the satisfaction of creating a beautiful bouquet without the need for a green thumb, and, unlike fresh flowers, these colorful creations will last!
Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite beverages to enjoy during the class, while SAAC will provide all of the necessary supplies and snacks to keep the creative energy flowing. Come ready to get crafty, have fun and leave with a bouquet made entirely by you.
Space is limited to 15 participants, and early registration is encouraged. The workshop fee is $40.
