Howie will be on hand Thursday September 18 at 8pm to speak about the film industry, screen writing and gives us a teaser of his new film The Secret Handshake. Klausner will also lead a “The NEW Film Business” workshop for screenwriters and filmmakers Thursday morning at 10:30am.
HOWIE KLAUSNER is a twenty + year writer and producer of film, television and literary content. His career took flight with the screenplay for the Clint Eastwood-directed Space Cowboys (Warner Brothers, 2000). Klausner spent years in Hollywood and on the Warner Brothers lot before launching Town Square Pictures, the independent studio behind The Secret Handshake. Recent studio credits include Soul Surfer, starring Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt, The Last Ride, starring Henry Thomas and Fred D. Thompson, The Grace Card, Starring Louis Gossett Jr., The Identical, starring Ray Liotta, Ashley Judd and Seth Green, and Hoovey, starring Patrick Warburton and Lauren Holly. Klausner’s screenplay for Reagan, the epic biopic of our 40th president is slated for production late 2014 in Los Angeles.
“Whether it’s a 75 million dollar Clint Eastwood studio picture, or a small-budget indy, my approach is the same—I write and produce character-driven stories that inspire, validate, and affirm the human condition and journey,” said Klausner.

In Oscar-winning writer Horton Foote’s chilling drama, One Armed Man, a wealthy cotton gin executive is confronted by a disgruntled former employee demanding the return of an arm lost in the gin’s machinery. Directed by Tim Guinee and produced by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
