About the South Arkansas Arts Center
The Heart of the Arts
SAAC is a complete visual and performing arts center that includes three gallery spaces, a ballet studio, a 207 seat theatre, a scene and costume shop, classrooms, a photography studio, and offices all of which provide AIE residencies, monthly gallery exhibits, community theatre productions, classes in visual arts, ballet, photography, drama, and music for people of all ages and people with special needs. “We have a talented community,” said SAAC’s Executive Director “and our expectations, and that of the community, are very high.”
Mission Statement
The Mission of the South Arkansas Arts Center in serving the people of the bi-state region is to promote, bridge, facilitate and support the ideas and forms of artistic appreciation, education, ability, confidence and cooperation for all age, cultural, social and racial groups.
The South Arkansas Arts Center believes that the arts should be basic to lifelong education – not just for children and teachers. Our goal is to stimulate awareness and appreciation of the arts through changing exhibitions, live performances, studio classes and workshops that can strengthen interpretive ability and interactive creativity for both children and adults. SAAC is here for the community!
Come see an art show – come enjoy a theatre production – come be a part of the arts in South Arkansas!
