Join SAAC for the 9th annual 5×5 Art Dash at 5pm on Sunday, May 5. The 5×5 Art Dash is a fundraiser where you get to take home a piece of art that is worth more than the price of the ticket! If you want a piece of local art, then this is the event for you.
Each year, 50 artists create special, one-of-a-kind pieces of art, all on small, 5-inch by 5-inch canvases. The canvases may be small, but the talent is BIG! The artists are your friends and are SAAC members! Most of them have shown in featured exhibitions in our galleries, entered the Membership Show, or are nationally recognized, and award-winning artists. There are also several new artists participating for the first time too. The 5×5 Art Dash is your opportunity to get a piece of work by one of these featured artists.
There is no irony that the 5×5 Art Dash is scheduled on May 5 at 5pm with 5×5 art pieces created by 50 artists, all for $50 per ticket. This event is the fastest and most fun fundraiser SAAC hosts each year and always brings lots of smiles and laughter to everyone involved. The artwork will be on display in our galleries for three days only from May 1 to May 3. On May 5th the artwork will be moved to prepare for the Art Dash that evening.
Annual organizer Kelly Campbell said, “Bruce Coffey from East Camden and Highland Railroad has sponsored this event from the very beginning. I can’t say ‘thank you’ enough to Mr. Coffey and to the artists who create a new piece of artwork especially for the event.” This year Campbell has invited an amazing group of artists who have all kindly agreed to donate their artwork for the fundraiser.
One $50 ticket admits you and one guest for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres 5:00-6:00pm, Sunday, May 5. At 5:30pm, everyone will gather in a group, and a bell will ring.
