Registration is now open for its Fall 2024 Arts Academy classes. This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring young artists to learn from a talented team of experienced instructors across various creative disciplines.

Back on the schedule is the poplar “Mommy and Me” class by Cassie Hickman, inviting babies, toddlers, and their adult companions to enjoy engaging art and music experiences together.

Visual arts classes, led by Maria Villegas, Katie Harwell, and Nicole McAdams, cater to a wide range of ages and skill levels. Each instructor brings a unique perspective and expertise, creating a nurturing environment for students to express themselves creatively. Mr. Mike Means offers his popular Art Meets Science class, Graphic Arts courses that allow students to acquire skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as a New Pencil Drawing for beginner.

A new highlight for this semester is the Advanced Art Study Class offered by Maria Villegas. Designed for aspiring artists aged 15-18+, this class will provide personalized instruction, advanced techniques, and vital guidance for those working on their college application portfolios.

Ballet instructors Laura Day, Karis Flurry, and Caroline Calloway are back in Russell Ballet Studio teaching ballet to dancers from Pre-K to 12th grade. The program features a variety of classes, beginning with Pre-Ballet for ages Pre-K to 1st grade, where students explore imaginative movement and musical rhythms while learning ballet etiquette, and culminating in Ballet 5, which emphasizes complete technique through barre, center, and floor work, alongside increasingly complex choreography.

Drama classes continue to flourish at SAAC, with Cassie Hickman and Haley Phillips offering an array of programing for students from Pre-K to 6th grade. Mr. Mike Theatre Improv class returns, fostering creativity and confidence through fun improvisational exercises. Plus Director Lynn Gunter and Music Director Cassie Hickman have two student musicals in production, “Finding Nemo, Kids” for the Penguin Project for students in grades 3-12 and “Into the Woods, Jr.” for the Drama Club students in grades 7-12.
