Flowers are abloom at the South Arkansas Arts Center for May’s Corks and Canvas class! On Thursday, May 23 from 6-9pm, local artist Michaela Gross will lead participants in a stained-glass nature painting. Corks and Canvas is designed for people who have always wanted to try their hand at art while also having some fun along the way.
Gross has selected an 8×8 acrylic paint project that is inspired by her recent obsession with anything patchwork such as quilts, stained glass, collages, and the like. “The foundation behind this piece came from my newly planted flower bed as well as my recent fascination with all things eclectic and hodge-podge,” said Gross.
No experience is necessary in order to participate in Corks and Canvas. Come enjoy a time of relaxation with your friends recreating the featured painting of the night. Paints, brushes, and all the supplies are provided, and SAAC will also be providing snacks. Participants are welcome to bring their own drink of choice.
