SAAC invites you to unleash their creativity with local artist Michaela Gross at the upcoming Corks and Canvas event on Wednesday, May 15th, at 6 PM. This month’s theme, “Wags, Whiskers, and Watercolors,” promises a delightful twist on the beloved pet portrait concept, as participants will create whimsical watercolor representations of their furry, feathered, or even scaly friends.

In the past, Gross has led popular Corks and Canvases focused on realistic pet portraits using acrylics. This May, she is excited to bring back the pet portrait idea, but with a playful flair and a new medium. Gross states, “My pet portrait Corks and Canvas classes have been very popular in the past. I wanted to do the same thing this time but shake things up by adding some whimsy and using watercolors.”

Once registered, participants will be contacted prior to May 15th with an email address to submit a photo of their pet, allowing Gross to prepare for the class.

Participants will enjoy a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere—perfect for nurturing creativity. The registration fee is $40, which includes all necessary art supplies, such as watercolor paper, brushes, and paints. As seating is limited to only 12 spots, early registration is highly recommended to secure a place in this artistic experience.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite beverages to sip on while they paint, and SAAC will provide a delightful assortment of snacks to keep the creative juices flowing. No prior art experience is required, making this event suitable for anyone looking to explore their artistic side amid friends and fellow community members.

Don’t miss your opportunity to join Michaela Gross for an enchanting evening of creativity, laughter, and whimsical fun!
