SAAC welcomes artist Kelly Campbell as the instructor for “Razorback Redux” Corks and Canvas on Thursday, October 19 from 6-9pm. Campbell will take Hog fans through a step-by-step process to create what she calls a “stink eye” Razorback on a 6 inch by 6 inch square, 1.25 inch deep, gallery-wrapped canvas, suitable to hang on the wall or display on a shelf. This will be a relaxed night of painting designed for people who have always wanted to try their hand at art while also having some fun along the way.
“I’m really excited to be back in the Corks and Canvas rotation,” she said. About the “redux” she said, “I had already prepped the Razorback for October’s Corks and Canvas; then I found out that Rhonda was doing the Razorback acrylic purses in September. Great minds think alike! I’m pretty good at changing direction, but I figured that it IS Hog season, so I didn’t alter my plan.”
Campbell is an award-winning local artist who is the former gallery manager as well as an instructor at SAAC. Prior to her 13-year tenure at SAAC, she taught art in the public school system in Union County for 26 years.
Come and enjoy a Hog callin’, fun filled, chilled out adult evening where no experience is necessary and all supplies are provided! The workshop fee is $40. Participants are welcome to bring their beverage of choice to enjoy while painting.
