Why go to a museum, when you can be one? Gary Hall’s August 27 Corks and Canvas will feature wearable art. The design is primarily built around a phoenix, but can easily be modified to be a dragon or a peacock. The design is based on a necktie and spills over into the rest of the shirt. Colors will depend on creature of choice. We have a limited selection of tuxedo shirts available that you can pick from ahead of time (10am-4pm Monday-Friday) or you can bring your own white shirt.
Corks & Canvas will meet on Monday, August 17, 6-9pm. For non-artists and artists alike, the $40 fee covers paint, brushes, snacks – bring the beverage of your choice! Gary Hall is primarily known for his work with the SAAC theatre, but had his first art show in October of last year. Gary trained under Dinah VanHook and Gay Bechtleheimer in public school and continued his studies in two and three and dimensional design at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He has an MA in Theatre from Louisiana Tech University with a specialty in directing and costume and set design. Many of Hall’s works have graced the SAAC stage and he looks forward to sharing his creation with other artists.
