Del Pagan’s photographs will hang in the Lobby Gallery January 5-February 5, with an artist reception January 16, 6-8pm

Pagan is a lifetime resident of El Dorado. He became interested in photography back in high school when he purchased his first 35mm SLR camera some forty plus years ago. It wasn’t until the digital age that he began to develop a serious interest in photography. He said, “I became more of a student of photography. I’m self-taught, except for one course in college oh so long ago. I do go to pro and advanced amateur photographer blogs and websites to see how the ones that really know what they’re doing, do it.”

The Pentax k10d, and the K3 with some pretty decent glass are his tools of choice. His subject matter varies from landscapes, seascapes, nature to still life, abstracts, sports, and night shots. “I’ll attempt just about anything that might make a quality capture. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t,” Pagan said.

He continued, “After digging into my archive of files I came up with a few images I thought might be worthy of this exhibit, ranging in photos taken from travels to Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, and Captiva Island, as well as some local night scenes and others I found interesting that I hope everyone will enjoy.”

Pagan has been married to his wife Denise for 23 years. They have one daughter, Hannah, who is in her second year of college. He is employed by Lion Oil.
