El Dorado artist Sharon Beckett‘s oil and acrylic paintings, “Salt, Pepper, and Paint”, are on exhibit in the Lobby Gallery through January 30. An artist reception is scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 6-8pm.
Beckett was born in Santa Monica, California, and has lived in El Dorado for the past 22 years. While she attended some college, she has had no professional training in art. In her twenties, she began exploring paint on canvas and has since used this medium as an outlet and a way to express herself. She enjoys the sense of freedom that a paintbrush in her hand provides.
Her work was on display as part of the South Arkansas Arts Center Membership Showcase in January 2017, as well as having been commissioned by and included in the Forbess Art Collection. Her paintings can also be seen at Backwoods Art and Frame Gallery in El Dorado.
