No matter what style of art appeals to you, chances are there is something to please the eye during the South Arkansas Arts Center’s highly anticipated annual exhibition 2015 Membership Showcase currently on display in the Merkle and Price Galleries through December 6. An artist reception will be hosted on Thursday, November 5, from 6:30-8:00pm. The members of SAAC have filled the galleries with 102 works created in assemblage, acrylic, charcoal, glasswork, graphite, oil, pastel, photography, sculpture, and watercolor. Every year the exhibition brings the talent of SAAC’s members to the forefront and allows them to display and sell their work in a non-competitive environment.

The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. The showcase is a great time to acquire a work of art from a local artist. Visual Arts Committee Member and avid art collector Camille Daniels said, “The membership show is my favorite show of the year. I love it because I get to see what my favorite local artists and friends have been up to artistically over the last year. As a child I can’t say I knew any artists. We have a vibrant art community in El Dorado and its surrounding areas. All my children grew up as friends with working artists which helped them develop a broad view of the world. We have genuine art displayed in our home created by many artists who we are proud to call friends and I’m always excited to see what they’ll exhibit at the Membership Show!”
