About Our Programs
The South Arkansas Arts Center is the destination for adventurous artists in south Arkansas and north Louisiana. A multidisciplinary art center, we feature engaging artist programs, exhibitions, performance and educational classes for a creative and diverse community.
Center for a Creative Community
FREE and open to the public during gallery hours, the South Arkansas Arts Center is an interactive space that develops and nurtures the artistic expression of our members. SAAC showcases established and emerging artists, hosts dynamic guest artists, supports arts education for all ages and actively promotes intersections between the arts, artist, and the community. The SAAC is a space where visitors can participate in artistic offerings in an atmosphere that is casual yet informative, inviting and intellectually stimulating.
Creative Arts Academy
Youth and school programs are designed to promote early engagement in the arts for K-12 school aged children. Our Creative Arts Academy programs are paid after school programs that promote mastery of the fundamentals of art and foster a life long appreciation of the arts.
Choose to explore visual or performance art during the school year for grades K-12 in classes after school Monday-Thursday, 3:30–7:00 pm. SAAC offers educational programs that provide a spectrum of artistic possibilities serving promising and gifted actors and artists, as well as those who are new and are ready to get started. Learn more about the teachers on staff on our Meet the Teachers page.
Put your art and creativity skills into action during the summer through a variety of camps organized to gain hands-on experience in the arts! Each summer SAAC offers camps in visual and performance arts, including painting/collage/sculpture, photography, computer art, drama, video/film, voice and piano. Find out more about the established fine artists and theatre professionals that teach the classes on our Meet the Teachers page.

Arts in Education
With a vision to place art in the heart of every child, the South Arkansas Arts Center supports the Arts in Education Program. In collaboration with local schools SAAC assists in placing artist educators in the classroom. Artists in residence expose students to the creative process through direct contact with professional artists, working in new arts programs or enhancing existing ones in local schools and arts agencies. Teachers and administrators can contact Tela Webb at 870.862.5474 to find out more about AIE opportunities for your classroom.
