The public is invited to come and be inspired by the hard work and talents of the students of art, dance, music and acting from this past semester’s classes on Saturday, December 10. These showcases are free of charge and open to the public.
K-1 Drama class, taught by Lynn Gunter, will present a short rendition of an Aesop’s Fable at 2:00. Immediately following, all of Stephanie Lowrey’s ballet classes will perform together in “Snowmen at Christmas Ballet” on stage in the Callaway Theater.
Glee will present their show entitled “Greatest Hits of All Time” at 3:00. “ The kids, 2nd-12th grades, picked the songs for this show and you will hear music from many genres, including ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Queen and ‘Rumor Has It’ by Adele,” according to Amy Allen, director.
At 4:00, individual piano and voice students of Karen Watkins will perform in a recital. Afterwards, Watkins’ group voice lesson students will present a show at 5:00. Some of the songs you will hear are “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile” from the movie “Annie”, “Happiness” from Charlie Brown and “I Won’t Say I’m In Love” from “Hercules.”
Art students of Maria Villegas and Mike Means will host an art reception from 5:00-6:00 in the Lobby Gallery. The kids have learned so much this semester and are excited to share it.
At 7:00, Drama Club, grades 9-12, will present “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller, directed by Lynn Gunter and Clayton Bolding. This exciting drama, set against the historical backdrop of Salem’s witchcraft trials, is a classic.
