Katy Hayes is an El Dorado native who is currently working remotely for DreamWorks Animation as a Character FX Artist. In her free time, she runs an Etsy shop selling anything from sketches to decorative resin coasters. She’s taken art lessons since she was young and, after quickly realizing pre-med wasn’t for her at Texas A&M University, decided to study animation. She went on to earn a Masters in Visual Effects from Savannah College of Art and Design. Katy uses traditional art to get back to the root of why she wanted to study animation in the first place–she loves art!
“I’m excited to be back in El Dorado, and I hope you’ll join me in playing with some alcohol inks (while we enjoy a little alcohol)!” said Katy. “Participants will experiment with alcohol ink, in the form of paintings, coasters, and even a little fire!”
