The exhibit for the 2020/2021 Membership Showcase opened on January 7 and will runs through February 3. No matter what style of art appeals to you, chances are there is something to please the eye during the SAAC’s highly anticipated annual exhibition. Sponsored by William P. Cook & Associates, PLLC, the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Appointments for private viewing can be made for guests needing assistance to limit covid exposure.

Chairman of the Visual Arts Committee, Helene Lamberts, says, “This show is the place to see who’s behind the mask! Your friends and neighbors are showcased at SAAC, and this is your chance to take a peek at our local talent.”

The members of SAAC once again fill the galleries with a myriad of works created in assemblage, acrylics, charcoal, glasswork, graphite, oils, pastel, photography, sculpture, and watercolor.  Artist included in the exhibit are Gay Bechtelheimer, Sandy Bennett, Cherie Bright, Daisy Bright, Rudy Bright, Beth Callaway, Kelly Campbell, Jo Cunningham, Ann Downs, Jennie Harris, Katie Harwell, Sylvia Henley, Helene Lambert, Pat Lowery, Mike Means, Moises Menendez, Heidi Morgan, Ann Palculict, Lee Scroggins, Bobbi Shepherd, Mallory Slaughter, Chris Stone, Marla Tomlinson, Lisa Burton Tarver, Paul Waschka, Ann Wilson, Burney Wilson, and Ramona Wood.

Every year the exhibition brings the talent of SAAC’s members to the forefront and allows them to display and sell their work in a non-competitive environment. “SAAC is all about our members, who are creating original work every day inside our walls and in their own studios,” says executive director Laura Allen. “Bringing so many different artists’ work together in our galleries is a beautiful way to celebrate these individuals, and their diverse points of view.”
