For non-artists and artists alike – Corks & Canvas with Kimberly Kellum! The instructor takes the class through the step by step process to complete a painting an 11×14 canvas in 3 hours. This will be Kimberly’s first Corks & Canvas at SAAC, but many people will be familiar with her classes in Smackover. She plans to do a snowman – because it’s not too early to be thinking about Christmas. “And yes, a very beginner can do it with my method,” she said.
Kimberly has been leading instructional painting classes for several years. The subject matter always changes, but the philosophy does not. She believes anyone can overcome their fear of putting paint to canvas and have fun. There are no mistakes in art, only opportunities to change. Kim graduated from Mississippi State University and has lived in and been influenced by several states, starting in Mississippi with her favorite being Alaska. Her painting style is impulsive and free spirited, with technical attention on brush strokes and color. She currently resides in the Magnolia/El Dorado area where her day job is running a sewing and embroidery service.
