The visual arts committee hosts an artist reception for “Third Floor,” a new exhibition by five Little Rock artists and “Living Country,” by local artist M. Angela Reeder. The reception will be in the Merkle and Price Galleries on Saturday, September 14 from 6-8pm. The exhibitions and reception are free and open to the public. Both exhibitions are on display through September 27.
“Third Floor” is a collaborative exhibition by artists Hamid Ebrahimifar, Tim Ellison, Catherine Siri Nugent, Dominique Simmons, and David Warren. The five artists, all of whom have studio space in the Quapaw Quarter SOMA Arts District in Little Rock, express themselves through sculpture, drawing, installation, painting, and printmaking.
El Dorado resident M. Angela Reeder’s exhibition “Living Country” is currently in the Lobby gallery. Although Reeder studied the medium of watercolor at SouthArk Community College, she is largely self-taught, and her work is predominately realistic drawings in the media of pastel and charcoal. Her pieces were previously exhibited at the SAAC in 2001, and can sometimes be seen at Studio 207 in downtown El Dorado.
