Workshop is full. No more reservations!
Safe at home but looking for some interaction with adults? Join artist Kelly Campbell at home for a virtual Zoom Corks & Canvas on April 30! All of the art supplies you need to create watercolor “Little Landscapes Everywhere” will be available for porch pickup at SAAC on Monday, April 27, and Wednesday, April 29, 10am-2pm.
The fee for this special Corks & Canvas is $30, and you get to keep the watercolor set, the brushes, extra paper, and any other surprises that you find in your supply bag. The interactive video class will meet at 9am, at 1pm, and at 6pm on Thursday, April 30. You choose your time!
“Many of us are working from home, and many of us are safe at home, practicing social distancing,” Kelly said. “We’ve been having daily staff meetings via Zoom, and we came up with the idea of using Zoom for Corks & Canvas. I thought it was a marvelous idea! This way, we can get in touch with each other, and by having the class scheduled for three different times during the day, everyone can choose a time that’s most convenient.”
She said, “This Corks & Canvas will be the first time anyone has worked with watercolor – and I’m very excited to share some basic techniques to create four very small landscapes. They’ll each measure approximately two inches by four inches – ish! But we’re including enough paper that after class, everyone who participates can play with the watercolors after.
“These little paintings will absolutely be eligible to hang in our ‘Under Quarantine: Art Created Under Unprecedented Circumstances’ exhibit/competition this summer,” she continued. “Anyone who has questions about that, or about ‘Kitchen Table Art: Art Created During School Closures’ for students can email me, and I’ll be more than happy to answer any and all questions.”
