PREPARING FOR AUDITIONS
Lobby opens a half hour before auditions. Arrive early to fill out an audition form and get a head shot. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for a dance audition. Please bring your calendar and provide a complete list of rehearsal conflicts.
Singing: Prepare 16 bars from a song in the style of the show to sing at Auditions. Don’t forget to bring your music. There will be no accompanist at auditions. Bring a music track on your phone/iPad/laptop that can connect by bluetooth or with an AUX cord (head phone jack) to our sound system or on a CD. (Optional if auditioning to just dance in the ensemble.) For Callbacks, music from the show will be assigned.
Dancing: Come prepared to perform a short musical theatre dance/movement combination. Preview the dance video to be familiar with the basic steps.
Acting: If auditioning for a lead role prepare a 1-2 minute monologue to present at Auditions. For Callbacks expect to read from the script. Scene reading with be made available the week of auditions.

Do you need help finding an audition song or finding a monologue to read? The director have some great ideas!
SONG IDEAS: Prepare to sing, about a minute or 16 bars, from any musical theatre song.

SUBMIT AN AUDITION VIDEO:
If you can not attend auditions in person, you can submit an audition video!
Record yourself singing your audition song (from 2 min cut to full song) and the audition dance combination. If interested in a dance role, you may also submit an additional video that shows your dance skills.
Send an email to info@saac-arts.org by noon on May 29 with a link where your videos can be viewed online and attach the auditions form, a head shot and resume, if you have one. Also, in the body of the email, say if you can or can not be at SAAC for Callbacks on Saturday, June 2.
