Get ready to add a little winter whimsy to your walls at the South Arkansas Arts Center’s (SAAC) next Corks & Canvas workshop, Silly Snowmen, on Thursday, November 19, at 6pm, led by local artist Kelly Campbell.
For $40, participants will create their own mixed-media snowman artwork, complete with plenty of personality. Each 8-by-8-inch piece features a painted snowman and background, with a fun twist: the snowmen can be dressed up just like paper dolls!
Participants can choose from a variety of templates for hats, scarves and clothing, along with a wide selection of decorative papers to make their snowmen uniquely their own. The clothing and accessories will be applied using Mod Podge, adding texture and a mixed-media element to each creation. Finished pieces can be displayed on a wall or stand on their own, making them a playful addition to seasonal décor.
Corks & Canvas is SAAC’s relaxed, sip-friendly workshop series designed to make art accessible, fun and social. Open to creatives of all skill levels, the workshops offer step-by-step instruction in a welcoming atmosphere where participants can unwind, experiment and enjoy the creative process. Whether planning a night out with friends, a casual date or a solo creative adventure, everyone is welcome.
All art supplies are included in the $40 registration fee, and light snacks will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite beverage and come ready for an evening of creativity and laughter.
Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged, as Corks & Canvas workshops tend to fill quickly. To register or learn more, contact the South Arkansas Arts Center at 870-862-5474 or visit saac-arts.org. The South Arkansas Arts Center is located at 110 E. Fifth St. in El Dorado.
